Coastal Dune Labs is an independent studio building focused tools for professionals whose licenses depend on getting the details right.
Our story
Coastal Dune Labs began with a simple observation: licensed professionals were managing career-critical requirements in spreadsheets and folders of certificates.
Our first app set out to answer the question every licensee asks each cycle: am I on track to renew? The rules differ by state, by board and by profession, and nothing on the market actually understood them. Once that engine existed, neighboring professions with the same problem were the natural next step.
That became our model. Find a licensed profession with complex, mandatory requirements; model those requirements faithfully; ship a native app that respects the user’s time and privacy. Then do it again.
What we believe
Accuracy is the product
For a licensed professional, a wrong answer about requirements is worse than no answer. We model rules carefully and point users to their board for the final word.
Privacy isn’t a feature
Professional records belong to the professional. We keep data on-device and in the user’s own iCloud, and we don’t track behavior.
Focus beats breadth
An app for engineers and an app for surveyors, rather than one app that half-fits both. Depth in each vertical is what earns trust.
Support is part of the app
Every message is read by the people who build the product, and most are answered within a day.
